When applying for outside scholarships, please keep in mind that each organization
has its own criteria, and deadline. This page is updated as we receive new scholarship
information, so please bookmark this site and check back regularly. Scholarships
from outside organizations can be utilized in addition to NMT merit scholarships,
and in conjunction with .
If a student receives a scholarship award letter from an organization, they should
send a copy to the Financial Aid Office so that it can be added to the student's award.

There are many scholarship opportunities for Engineering students.
These scholarships are available to high school seniors, high school graduates, and
college undergraduates interested in a career in the electrical energy industry. We
focus on supporting students pursuing majors that are in short supply and high demand
by public power utilities
$4,000 Student Research Grants and Internships Ten or more scholarships of $4,000 are are awarded each year to undergraduate/graduate
students interested in student research grants and internships. Student Research Grant
recipients conduct original research on a topic of interest to the field of public
power. Interns work in conjunction with a who mentors the student.
An additional $1000 in funding is reserved for research grant and internship recipients wishing
to attend American Public Power Association conferences to present their research
and learn more about the professional world of public power.
SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program

SMART scholars receive full tuition, annual stipends, internships, and guaranteed employment
