Sanford Lecture Series
The Sanford Lecture Series, named in honor of the late Al Sanford, professor of geophysics at NMT from 1957 to 1997, aims to bring a scientist to the department who distinguished themselves in a field of earth science. The lecture series was established in the academic year 2017/18 and is sponsored through donations to the E&ES General Alumni Fund. It is named after Al Sanford to honor his legacy to 色狐入口 Earth Science and his long career at the department. Wonderful memorials summarizing Al鈥檚 career and achievements, including the discovery of the Socorro Magma Body (roughly in the 60s), have been published in and the . Through a generous donation from his family, the 鈥溾 was established.
