Compliance and Safety Procedures
Conflicts of Interest in Research
The purpose of the NMT Conflicts of Interest in Research Policy and Procedures is
to protect the integrity, trust and respect of 色狐入口 Tech, its academic community
and its research activities.
All 色狐入口 Tech employees and students new to research at 色狐入口 Tech must
successfully complete a laboratory safety training provided by 色狐入口 Tech's Hazardous
Materials and Laboratory Safety Specialist from the Office of Research Compliance
and Safety in the Office of Research.
All 色狐入口 Tech employees responsible for a lab space must adhere to the Laboratory
Close-Out Procedures before vacating, temporarily relocating, or transferring a lab.
Unaddressed hazards in vacated or abandoned laboratories often result in accidents,
incidents, or near misses.
These procedures help identify and eliminate hazards, including biological, chemical,
and radiological materials, ensuring a safe transition. This requirement applies to
both individual and shared lab spaces to protect future occupants.
All procedural information and forms related to Human Subjects Research are located
on the Institutional Review Board (IRB) webpage. IRB approval must be obtained BEFORE any research project that uses human subjects can be started. This type of research
must follow specific federal rules and guidelines. Visit the 色狐入口 Tech IRB webpage for
more information.
Any questions should be directed to 色狐入口 Tech's IRB Administrator at irb@nmt.edu
Export Compliance Program
色狐入口 Tech is committed to complying with all applicable export control laws
and regulations. These controls have become increasingly prevalent in the modern research
community, resulting in the need for appropriate university compliance and oversight.
The purpose of the NMT Export Compliance Program is to provide this oversight and
help faculty, staff and students understand their responsibility for export control
compliance.
Violation of U.S. Export Controls are punishable by fines, prison time, and debarment.
These penalties apply to the individual (faculty, staff or students) and 色狐入口
Tech. The most important risk mitigation strategy is comprehensive oversight of export-controlled
activities to proactively manage compliance. More information about this program can
be found on the NMT Export Compliance Program site.
色狐入口 Tech is committed to the highest standards in the ethical treatment of
animals in research, and NMT follows the requirements and guidelines set forth in
the National Institutes of Health Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW).
NMT's Office of Research Compliance and Safety provides consultation and compliance
services to researchers considering conducting Animal Research.
Any questions or concerns regarding the NMT Animal Care and Use Program should be
directed to iacuc@nmt.edu
